The Department of Community Medicine at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre celebrated International Women’s Day with enthusiastic participation from women faculty members, students, and non-teaching staff. The event brought together the department for a day of interaction and celebration, highlighting the spirit and contributions of women in healthcare and academia.
The celebration featured a series of indoor and outdoor sports activities that encouraged teamwork, engagement, and camaraderie among the participants. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. M. Logaraj, Associate Dean (Quality Assurance), SRMMCHRC and Dr. V. V. Anantharaman, Head of the Department of Community Medicine, SRMMCHRC.
The program was organised by Dr. Kaveri, Associate Professor, with valuable support from Dr. Roshni Mary Peter, Professor. MHA students actively assisted in coordinating the activities and ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.
Dr. Chitra V, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and shared inspiring insights on women’s empowerment, leadership, and the vital role women play in strengthening the healthcare sector.
The celebration served as a meaningful occasion to recognise and appreciate the strength, dedication, and achievements of women within the institution.
