The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation emphasizes the prevention, diagnosis and management of disorders that may produce temporary or permanent limitation, disability or participation restriction in any individual. It focuses on the restoration of the function of individuals to the highest possible through a multi-disciplinary team work. It therapeutic armamentarium includes education and counseling, medicines, therapeutic exercises and equipment, intervention of correction of deformities etc. It works in close coordination with departments like Orthopedics, Neurology, Cardio-Pulmonary, Psychiatry and Psychology.
