The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, in association with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), organised a Community Field Visit and Nutrition Awareness Programme on 3 September 2026 at the Yoga Centre, Anjur Village, Chengalpattu.

The programme was organised as part of the department’s community outreach initiatives, providing students with an opportunity to engage with the local community and promote awareness of the importance of healthy nutrition and dietary practices.

A total of 21 II-Year PG students participated in the field visit, accompanied by faculty members Ms. Damini and Ms. Mythili R. The initiative enabled students to gain practical exposure to community-based nutrition education while contributing to the promotion of healthier dietary practices among the community.

The programme reflected SRMIST’s commitment to experiential learning, community engagement, and the application of nutrition knowledge towards improving community well-being.
