The Department of Pathology, SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, observed National Cancer Awareness Day on November 2 and 3, 2026, by organising a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on the theme “Cervical Cancer Conquered: From Prevention to Precision.”

The programme featured insightful scientific sessions delivered by eminent speakers from Madras Medical College, Adyar Cancer Institute and MGM Cancer Institute. The sessions provided valuable perspectives on cervical cancer prevention, early detection, advances in diagnosis and evolving precision-based approaches to treatment.

As part of the celebrations, a series of engaging academic and creative activities, including quizzes, debates, poster presentations, rangoli, painting and short-film competitions, were organised for undergraduate students from various disciplines. These activities encouraged students to explore cancer awareness through scientific learning, creativity and active participation.

The two-day programme served as an academic platform to enhance awareness of cervical cancer, emphasise the importance of preventive healthcare and encourage informed discussions on advancements in cancer care.
