The ‘World Breast Feeding Week’ is celebrated every year from 1st August to 7th August, coordinated by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), a global network of individuals and organizations concerned with the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding worldwide.

SRM Hospital commemorated this with a week long programme. This was inaugurated by the H’ble Pro Vice Chancellor Lt Col A. Ravikumar in the presence of Dean Dr. A. sundaram and Medical Superintendent Dr. Thangaraj. Dr. Prakash Md, DM, Neonatologist, IOG&HWC, Egmore, Chennai was the guest speaker. A variety of activities were conducted all through the week involving all the stakeholders – Parents, Children, Doctors, Nurses and Social workers. The valedictory function was held on 6th August,2021, which was attended by Kalaimamani Dr. Rekha, cine actor.
