Our most beloved Founder’s birthday was celebrated as the Founders’ Day -by the Faculty, Staff and Students of Medical and Health Sciences of SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, on 24th August 2021.

The Pro-Vice Chancellor (Medical & Health Sciences) Dr. Lt Col A. Ravi Kumar welcomed the gathering and spoke about the recent innovations in the SRM Hospital. He thanked the Buddhist Tzu Chi Charitable Foundation and the Tzu Chi University, Taiwan for their valuable donations of 162 oxygen concentrators to fight the Pandemic and for joining the proceedings on-line.

Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor (Academics) Dr. P. Sathyanarayanan led the celebrations and inaugurated the three ‘Centres of Excellence’ in commemoration of the Founder’s Day.
1. Smile Train project at SRM,
2. Neuro-otology division and Vestibular laboratory and
3. The New Clinical Trial Unit at SRM

Even in the midst of his busy schedule, Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar, Member of Parliament graced the program and gave his blessings and wishes to all. In his address, the H’ble Founder Chancellor appreciated the silent yet steadfast & dedicated work done by the H’ble Pro-Chancellor in shaping the hospital and taking it to newer heights. He congratulated the Administrators led by the Pro-Vice Chancellor (MHS), Doctors, Nurses and all staff of the hospital for their tireless work during the COVID 19 Pandemic.

“The treatment and care given to the poorest of the poor patient- should be the same as the one given to the affluent in our hospital”.
By his words of wisdom, the Chancellor invigorated us by re-dedicating our cause to help our patients from all walks of life.

Felicitation was offered by Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice- Chancellor, SRM IST and the program came to a close following the vote of thanks by the Dean (Medical) Prof. A. Sundaram.
