The Department of Anatomy at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, SRM Nagar, Potheri, Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu, successfully organised a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme titled “ANATOBOTICS – The New Era of Urogynecological Surgery” on 27th March 2026 at New Lecture Hall 1.
The programme began with registration, followed by a formal inauguration attended by esteemed dignitaries, faculty members, and participants. The event reflected the institution’s continued commitment to academic excellence and the promotion of advanced medical education.
The highlight of the CME was the keynote lecture delivered by Dr. Meera W. Raghavan, MD, FRCOG, FICOG, Director of ASCOT, Apollo Simulation Centre. Dr. Meera W. Raghavan presented an in-depth overview of the evolving landscape of urogynecological surgery, emphasising the integration of robotics with anatomical precision. Her session explored how cutting-edge simulation and robotic techniques are reshaping surgical outcomes, improving accuracy, and enhancing patient care.
The lecture was both insightful and engaging, encouraging active interaction among faculty members, postgraduate students, and attendees. Participants gained valuable exposure to emerging surgical innovations and practical applications in urogynecology.
The programme concluded with a felicitation ceremony, where Dr. Meera W. Raghavan was honoured for her contribution. The organising team from the Department of Anatomy was also acknowledged for their efforts in successfully coordinating the event.
On the whole, the CME programme was well-received and appreciated by all participants. It served as a meaningful platform for knowledge exchange, reinforcing the importance of technological advancement and interdisciplinary learning in modern medical practice.
