The Department of Biochemistry at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre felt proud to welcome back one of its accomplished alumnae, Dr. Sai Deepika, MSc Medical Biochemistry (Batch of 2011), now serving as Assistant Professor at Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College. Beyond her academic role, she also leads with vision as the driving force behind the Centre of Excellence — the Fluoride Referral Lab.

Dr. Sai Deepika graciously returned to her alma mater to share insights from her rich academic and research journey. Her talk beautifully intertwined her PhD experience, challenges, and breakthroughs, while offering practical guidance to postgraduate students on how to approach research as more than just a degree requirement. This talk serves as a path to purpose, curiosity, and impact.

One of the most captivating parts of the session was her discussion on Sirtuin 1, often dubbed the anti-ageing protein, known for its role in calorie restriction and cellular longevity. Her ability to break down complex biochemical mechanisms and link them to real-world implications made the session truly engaging.

The interactive event saw enthusiastic participation from 30 budding biochemists, all of whom walked away enriched and inspired by her energy, clarity, and passion for science.

SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sai Deepika. Your journey is a beacon for those who follow.
