The Department of Community Medicine, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), organised a comprehensive medical camp on 20 December 2025 at Guduvancheri, with joint sponsorship from SRMIST and the Nalam Kakkum Stalin (NKS) Scheme. The camp aimed to improve access to essential healthcare services and promote early diagnosis within the community.

The medical camp received an encouraging response from the public, with a total of 350 outpatients attending during the programme. After clinical evaluation, 90 cases were identified and referred to higher centres for further investigation and specialised treatment, reflecting the camp’s impact on early detection and preventive care.

Healthcare services were delivered through the active participation of multiple departments, including General Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OBG), ENT, Paediatrics, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, and Echo Technology. The coordinated efforts of doctors, paramedical staff, and volunteers ensured smooth functioning and quality care throughout the camp.

The event was honoured by the presence and support of Mr. Varalakshmi, MLA, Maraimalai Nagar, and Mr. Karthik M. K. D., Chairman, Guduvancheri. Their encouragement and cooperation played an important role in the successful conduct of the programme.
