SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre officially inaugurated PANACEA 2026, its flagship inter-medical cultural festival, with great enthusiasm and participation from students across medical and allied health disciplines. The three-day festival serves as a vibrant platform for aspiring healthcare professionals to showcase their talents, creativity, leadership, and teamwork beyond the academic environment.

Organized by the Zephyrians Student Council, PANACEA 2026 features a diverse range of cultural, literary, artistic, and recreational events designed to promote holistic development and foster meaningful connections among students.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. T. Mythili, Additional Registrar (Medical and Health Sciences), SRM Institute of Science and Technology, emphasized the importance of extracurricular engagement in shaping well-rounded individuals.”What you learn inside the classroom shapes your career. What you do outside the classroom shapes you as an individual for life,” she remarked.

Prof. (Dr.) Jayanthi R., Dean, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, highlighted the significance of cultural participation in the medical profession.”Medicine trains us to heal the body and think critically. But culture reminds us of why we practice medicine: to connect, to comfort, and to celebrate our shared humanity,” she said.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Dr. T. Mythili, Additional Registrar (Medical and Health Sciences), SRMIST; Prof. (Dr.) Jayanthi R., Dean; Dr. Balakrishnan R., Vice Principal; and Dr. Muthu S., Assistant Dean – Student Affairs.

Faculty members, student organizers, and participants also attended the event, marking the beginning of three days of celebration and camaraderie.
