As part of its continuous awareness initiatives on substance abuse, the University Wellness Program (UWP), in collaboration with the Department of Accident and Emergency Care Technology, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, organised a Peer Volunteers Training on Substance Abuse Prevention titled Say No to Drugs on 9 February 2026.

The program was designed to equip students with essential knowledge and practical skills to address substance abuse within the campus community. Through structured training, participants were sensitised to the physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug misuse. The session also emphasised early identification, peer intervention strategies, and responsible communication techniques.

The initiative aimed to strengthen peer-led prevention efforts and encourage students to serve as ambassadors for a healthy, substance-free campus environment. By fostering informed student leadership, UWP continues to reinforce its commitment to promoting overall well-being and proactive engagement across the university.
