Faculty members from the Department of General Medicine, SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre (SRMMCHRC) played a pivotal role in the successful conduct of the Annual Conference of the Tamil Nadu State Association of Physicians of India (TAPICON 2026), held in Chennai from 26–28 June 2026.

Prof. Dr. Jennie made significant contributions by serving as Curator of the Scientific Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee, Core Committee, and Organising Committee. She also participated in the conference as both a Speaker and Chairperson, contributing to the scientific deliberations.

Dr. J. S. Kumar represented SRMMCHRC as a Speaker, while Dr. Meenakshi Sundari served as a Chairperson during the scientific sessions. In addition, Prof. Dr. Jennie and Prof. Dr. Meenakshi Sundari were invited as Examiners for the prestigious State-Level Gold Medal Examination conducted for postgraduate medical students from institutions across Tamil Nadu.

The SRM faculty team was entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating Hall A, the conference’s main scientific venue with a seating capacity of approximately 1,200 delegates. Throughout the three-day conference, the team ensured the seamless execution of all scientific sessions, reflecting exceptional planning, coordination, and academic professionalism.

In recognition of their exemplary contributions, the TAPICON 2026 Organising Committee honoured the SRM faculty team during the Valedictory Function, expressing its appreciation for their dedication and commitment to the success of the conference.

This recognition underscores SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre’s continued commitment to academic excellence, leadership in medical education, and meaningful contributions to the advancement of healthcare and clinical practice.
