Dr. Piyush Agrawal, Division of Medical Research, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), delivered two oral research presentations at CSICON 2025, one of India’s premier cardiology conferences. The conference was held at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi, from December 4 to 7, 2025, and brought together leading cardiologists, clinicians, and researchers from across the country.

The presentations addressed emerging links between metabolic disorders, cancer therapy, and cardiovascular disease, using advanced computational biology, AI-driven bioinformatics, and multi-omics approaches to answer clinically relevant questions.

The first presentation, “Bridging Gestational Diabetes and Heart Failure: In Silico Identification of Prognostic Gene Signatures,” focused on shared molecular mechanisms connecting gestational diabetes with long-term cardiovascular risk. The study identified prognostic gene signatures that may have future translational and clinical relevance.

The second presentation, “From Lungs to Heart: Post-Treatment Exosomal miRNAs Link Lung Cancer Therapy to Cardiac Injury and Heart Failure,” explored therapy-induced cardiotoxicity in lung cancer patients. The work highlighted the role of exosomal microRNAs in mediating molecular links between cancer treatment, cardiac injury, and subsequent heart failure.

These oral presentations reflect the growing importance of systems biology and AI-enabled bioinformatics in understanding complex cardio-metabolic and cardio-oncology interactions. Dr. Piyush Agrawal’s participation at CSICON 2025 underscores SRM Institute of Science and Technology’s continued contribution to high-impact, interdisciplinary cardiovascular research at national forums.
