The department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics celebrated the valedictory program of the National Nutrition Month on 20.9.2023.

The program was graced by the Dean Dr(Prof). Nitin. M. Nagarkar, SRM MCH and RC, Vice Principal of Allied Health Sciences Dr.Balakrishnan.R Associate Professor Department of Anatomy SRM MCH and RC. The invocation song accompanied the lighting of Kuththu vilakku by dignitaries The welcome address was proposed by Ms. E. Lakshmi, Associate Professor Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics

The presidential address was delivered by our most respectable Dean- medical. The Guest speaker Dr. G. Dhanavathy, Assistant Professor, Biotechnology,School of Bioengineering SRMIST delivered her expertise on the topic “Impact of Nutrigenomics in Metabolic Diseases and Health”. The session was interactive on in vivo and in vitro methods of nutrigenomic study.

Ms. Poornima, Child Development Project Officer (ICDS), the special invitee for the day addressed the gathering on the functions of ICDS and madams role towards the same.

The dignitaries were felicitated with a fruit bouquet and memento. The glimpse of the events conducted was projected as a video – Meme and slogan competition, fashion walk, outreach programme for antenatal mothers at primary health centre-Guduvancherry, Awareness programme at Govt high school Natttarasanpattu in association with Unnat Bharat Abiyan and awareness programme for mothers at SRM GH –OBG OPD .

Dr. K. Silambu Selvi, Associate professor Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics presented the report on the fortnight long events conducted towards NNM-2023.

The prizes were distributed to the awardees by the dignitaries. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. Nandhini Lecturer Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics followed by National anthem.
